Emilio's Mexican Restaurant & Cantina | Our Story

A San Jacinto family tradition since 1983
Emilio and Shirley Redín opened our doors on December 19th, 1983, with a simple goal: to give the San Jacinto community a place to gather around good food. More than four decades later, that purpose hasn't changed.

The family behind Emilio's
JuanCarlos and Toni Redin — the second generation of the Redín family — now own and run the restaurant. Most of their ten children have worked here at some point, and the family hopes to one day welcome grandchildren into the tradition.

Recipes that stayed
New dishes have joined the menu over the years, but the recipes created in 1983 are still the ones we cook from today. That consistency is something we take seriously — it's how a first-time guest gets the same plate that a longtime regular has been coming back for.

A margarita years in the making
Emilio spent a full year — from 1983 to 1984 — refining a margarita recipe built for consistency, whoever was behind the bar. That recipe earned us the Press Enterprise Reader's Choice Award for best margarita, and it's still what we serve today.

A place to gather
Good service means knowing your guests and making them feel at home — not just on the first visit, but on every one after that. Whether it's a weeknight dinner, Sunday brunch, or a catered event, the welcome is the same.
